NEW YORK (TheStreet) — Snoop Dogg will be the first rap artist to be featured in Rock Band on Tuesday when eight of his tracks will appear in the hit video game’s music store.

Some of his hip hop songs were reproduced for the game, including the No. 1 hit single of 2004, Drop It Like It’s Hot and Who Am I (What’s My Name)? from his hit album, The Doggfather.

“I consider myself an ‘OG gamer,” or original gamer, said Dogg. “To be chosen as the first hip hop artist to appear in Rock Band … well, it doesn’t get any better than that.”

Harmonix Music, a videogame development company, and MTV Games announced that the content will be available on Microsoft’s(MSFT) Xbox 360 video game system, Sony’s(SNE) PlayStation 3 system and the Nintendo Wii.

Since its release in 2007, more than four million copies of the game have been sold. Over 70 million songs have been sold through its download store which features more than 400 artists and 1,600 songs.
